Halloween in Dubai 2018: The city’s best parties

Because where else on Halloween can you head to the pub and win a whopping-great Dhs3,000 in cold, hard cash to take home all for yourself (and your team mates)? Nowhere else, that’s where, so head along to Time Out Dubai’s Big Fat Haunted Halloween Quiz at Café Artois at Bridgewater in Dubai’s Business Bay.
Eight rounds will test your knowledge and skills in a bunch of different ways, and not only is there a big stack of cash up for grabs, but there will also be spot prizes for the best fancy dress (so look sharp). Previous winners have taken away brunches, staycations, gig tickets and more, so get involved. The quiz always sells out, so book your table in advance.

Free to enter. Reservations highly recommended. Wed Oct 31, doors open 6pm, quiz starts 8pm. Café Artois @ Bridgewater, JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, Business Bay (04 414 3000).

Make a date at Club Vista Mare on the Palm to get involved with this Peruvian-Japanese restaurant’s haunted house party. Ají’s “haunted mansion” is back for year two, with promises of phobia-inducing ghouls and goblins, plus special mixed drinks and a free drink for anyone who arrives in costume.

Free. Wed Oct 31 8pm-midnight. Club Vista Mare, Palm Jumeirah (04 552 0244).

Anantara The Palm
Head to the Palm Jumeirah for a full Halloween barbecue on the beach, with accompanying tunes from DJ Eden. Dress up, get involved and get a whole host of smoked barbecue treats alongside grape and hops for Dhs415.

Dhs415. Wed Oct 31 7pm-9.30pm. Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, Palm Jumeirah (04 567 8304).

Atlantis The Palm
A huge, one-off bash is coming to the sands of Atlantis The Palm on Thursday October 25. Where Nasimi Beach once stood, The Dark Clinic is promising a “terrifying, scream-inducing” night out, with some massive tracks being provided by internationally renowned DJ Juicy M, who’s jetting into Dubai just for the night. Big fancy dress is recommended.
Free (ladies before 9pm), Dhs100 (booking online), Dhs150 (on the door). Thu Oct 25 7pm-3am. Atlantis The Palm, Palm Jumeirah, dubai.platinumlist.net (055 200 4321).

Aquaventure After Dark
What better way to party it up Halloween-style than heading over to a waterpark at night? Aquaventure After Dark is having a “spooktacular” special edition. Thrill-seekers can expect massive water slides to really make you scream, along with pumping tunes from the UAE's leading DJs, laser and fire shows and the chance to wade through the specially set up haunted towers. Kicking off at 8pm all the way until midnight, this is a buzzing fright night you won’t want to miss. Tickets can only be purchased online, so nab them before heading on over.
Dhs149, Dhs179 (with meal). Fri Oct 26, 8pm-midnight. Atlantis The Palm, Palm Jumeirah www.atlantisthepalm.com/special-offers/aquaventure-after-dark.

That’s right, the master DJ Jazzy Jeff is back in town for a Halloween special at Barasti, with the club’s Halloween Beach Party taking place on Wednesday October 31 – so if you are in the mood for a Halloween-themed preekender (that’s a pre-weekend night out, btw), then you don’t want to miss out on this. With the night running through until 3am, you can get your night started with a happy hour offering drinks for Dhs30 (which is cheaper than Barasti’s usual prices) until 9pm. To top it all off, the night is completely free to enter.

Free. Wed Oct 31, 11am-3am. Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Al Sufouh (04 318 1313).

There’s nothing scary about a free trip to Paris – though you’ll have to dress up as something suitably ghoulish if you want to win it. BARBARY Deli + Cocktail Club is giving away a two-night trip for two to the best fancy dress at its party on Wednesday October 31. But that’s not all – there’s also a Hotel Horreur night on Thursday November 1 with two DJ sets, and Disco Killer on Friday November 2, with – you’ve guessed it – electro disco beats.

Free entry. Wed Oct 31-Fri Oct 2, 10pm-3am. TRYP by Wyndham Dubai, Barsha Heights (04 247 6688).

It’s not often that a carvery has been called scary, but this family-friendly brunch at The Big Easy at top golf club The Els Club in Dubai Sports City will be putting on a fancy dress brunch with face painting, scary movies and a whole bunch of goodies up for grabs.

Dhs95 (kids), Dhs175 (adults food only), Dhs225 (house beverages). Fri Oct 26 1pm-4pm. The Els Club, Dubai Sports City (04 425 1037).

Thu Nov 1, noon-midnight. Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai, Garhoud (04 702 8888).

It’s an ’80s and ’90s-themed Halloween bash – which the restaurant says will be “a little spooky with a dose of sass”. Unleash your favourite childhood hero, and get on down to the Monster Mash – it was a graveyard smash, after all.

This is one of the fancier Halloween offerings on the list. Halloween celebrations kick off early at Meliã Desert Palm with a tapas night at Epicure on Thursday October 25. Throughout the evening, across the hotel’s four main restaurants and bars, you’ll team up with your fellow diners and solve the mystery of “the forgotten treasure”. La Ville says it stands today on the site of an old prison (which we do doubt…), and you’ve been drafted in to track down the heir of a ghost haunting the hotel, so you can find his lost fortune.
